Tourism in the Moroccan city of Dakhla

On the Atlantic coast, in the far south, stretches a bay of incomparable charm. Between the dunes and the waves, live in harmony and get lost in awe of a nature full of secrets.

A view like no other

On the outskirts of the mouth of the Rio de Oro, the city of Dakhla was built in 1884 by the Spanish, and was known under Spanish rule as "Villa Cisneros". It is a small fishing port that extends along the shore of a magnificent lagoon with turquoise waters. In addition to receiving thousands of migratory birds, including pink flamingos, the bay is home to a large colony of seals. Its waters are also frequented by a group of rays and dolphins, and the "Punta Sarca" site, located at the southern tip of the peninsula, is the ideal place to watch them.

Fun activities

The place is considered by surfing champions to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, as the bay is a suitable place for practicing all kinds of water skiing sports (3.6.1) ... and on the sand dunes too! If you want to be in harmony and connect with nature, you can spend the night in the desert tents (traditional desert group tents) at the surf camp. You can also try bathing in the sulfurous waters of the hot springs "Asma", which reach a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, due to its benefits for the skin, respiratory disorders and bones. On the other hand, the Lake of Wadi al-Dhahab "Rio de Oro" is classified among the world's places known for its very important fish wealth. The corbin fish is the most abundant fish in the region. And even if you practice coastal fishing with hooks, you can catch fish that can reach two meters in length and weigh up to 80 kilograms.

Dakhla and its bay are among the rare places where humans can still live with the elements of virgin nature in unparalleled harmony.
